BIOGRAPHY

Almir Badnjević was born on 13 July 1986 in Bosanska Krupa, Bosnia and Herzegovina. He earned his bachelors and master’s degrees at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, University of Sarajevo, and received a Ph.D. in 2015 from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing at the University of Zagreb.

Badnjević has been active in both academia and the professional field since 2008. His work focuses on integrating medical devices with measurement functions into legal metrology and establishing traceability in medical measurements. He co-authored and edited “Inspection of Medical Devices – for Regulatory Purposes,” published in 2017; a second edition was published in 2023. In 2022, he founded the “Verlab Institute for Biomedical Engineering, Medical Devices, and Artificial Intelligence.”

The Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina appointed Badnjević as the director of the Agency for Identification Documents, Records, and Data Exchange (IDDEEA) for the 2023–2028 term.
