BIOGRAFIA

Lorenzo Petrosino graduated from Campus Bio-Medico University in 2021 with a BSc in Industrial Engineering and later earned an MSc in Biomedical Engineering with a curriculum in Biorobotics and Bionics. His Master’s thesis, titled “Image sensors and VPU acceleration for data analysis and classification,” was centered on image processing and edge computing applications. Since November 2021, Lorenzo has been a PhD student at the University Campus Bio-Medico of Rome. His research primarily explores the integration of artificial intelligence and distributed systems such as blockchain technologies to enhance industrial supply chain systems and healthcare applications. In February 2024, he began a visiting period at the University of Cambridge, working under Professor Pietro Liò for designing a Graph-aided Federated Learning framework for Healthcare 4.0. He has also served as a collaborating professor at the University Campus Bio-Medico of Rome since 2021, lecturing on Distributed Systems, Deep Learning, and Optimization Methods.

Lorenzo has contributed to several academic publications, including research on edge computing, neural networks, and AI for healthcare. Furthermore he has presented his work at various international conferences, including IEEE MetroInd4.0 & IoT, and has served as a speaker and substitute chair.
