BIOGRAFIA

Nahimiya Husen Ibrahim was born in Nekemte, Oromia, Ethiopia. After completing high school in Nekemte in 2010, he moved to Jimma, Oromia, Ethiopia, where he attended Jimma University and received a BSc in Biomedical Engineering in 2015. He later pursued an MBA at Wollega University, graduating in 2021. Following his graduation as a biomedical engineer, he worked at various levels in different tiers of health institutions in Ethiopia, progressing from a junior biomedical engineer to a senior service engineer.

In December 2021, he relocated to Italy to pursue an MSc in Engineering of Medical Devices at Marche Polytechnic University in Ancona. Currently, he is working on a PhD under the supervision of Prof. Leandro Pecchia, focusing on mastering medical device regulation, design, and development of frugal innovations for low-resource settings. His research emphasizes affordable, user-friendly, and environmentally adaptable medical devices supported by IoT and AI. His current projects focus on redesigning oxygen concentrators parts and designing a device to estimate natural air ventilation using a circular economy approach.
