BIOGRAFIA

Tamara Boscarino was born in Syracuse, Sicily, Italy. After completing high school education in Syracuse, she moved to Rome, Italy, where she obtained a BSc in Medical Engineering at the University of Rome ‘Tor Vergata’ in 2019. She then pursued an MSc in Biomedical Engineering at the University Campus Bio-Medico of Rome, graduating in 2022. During these years, she developed a passion for medical devices for the early diagnosis of diseases, focusing on immunohistochemical and electrochemical detection techniques.

To further enrich her academic background, she completed a II level University Master Course in Open Innovation and Entrepreneurship in 2023, while simultaneously starting a PhD in Bioengineering at the University Campus Bio-Medico of Rome under the supervision of Prof. Leandro Pecchia and Prof. Vincenzo Piemonte.

Her primary research aim is to explore the challenges associated with Point of Care devices and to design an integrated AI solution to bridge the gap in healthcare access in low-income countries. In her free time, she enjoys spending quality moments with family and friends, engaging in various sports, and traveling to explore new horizons.
