In this talk we will review a few aspects we have investigated with linear and non linear techniques in characterising both the morphology and the chemistry of tissues. Linear and non linear imaging modalities with labeled and label-free detection, together with a multimodal spectroscopic approach, will be shown in applications regarding tissue pathologies. A comparison among modalities will be analised also in view of a possible exploitation in clinics.
