Dr. Davide Piaggio, Assistant Professor in Biomedical Engineering ABSPIE Lab – School of Engineering School of Engineering, University of Warwick
Biography
Dr Davide Piaggio was born in Imperia (Liguria, Italy), where he attended Liceo Classico E. De Amicis (2006-2011). He then received his BSc and MSc in Biomedical engineering at the University of Genova (2014) and at the Polytechnic University of Turin (2017), respectively. Davide received his PhD in Biomedical Engineering with a specific focus on medical device design and regulations and low-resource settings from the University of Warwick (2022), where he is currently Assistant Professor and co-director of the Applied Biomedical Signal Processing and Intelligent eHealth Lab sincen 2022. Since the start of his PhD, he has been involved in several teaching and research related jobs, including graduate teaching assistant, research assistant, teaching fellow, and research fellow. His main areas of expertise are medical device design and regulatory affairs, CAD design, 3D printing, signal processing and App design (Android). He has authored or co-authored over 30 journal/conference papers and book chapters. Davide is collaborator of the IFMBE, specifically of the health technology assessment division, the Africa Biomedical Engineering Working Group, and the publicity committee, he is the academic colead for the novel Spotlight on Society and Culture, where he oversees the global health part, and he is in the executive group of the Biomedical Engineering Institute, at the University of Warwick.
